These beautiful, handmade waste paper bins will add warmth and interest to any room in your home. These unique pieces are made from hand block-printed fabric and a stiff cardstock interior. Each wastebasket is covered in pure cotton finished with many coats of an acrylic glaze. Use this small garbage can in your bedroom, living room, office, guest room, bathroom, or front hall.

Please do note that these trash cans are not suitable for liquids - they are not waterproof. They arrive folded and flat; you unfold an ingenious hexagonal design. These make the perfect ethically-made, unique, beautiful gift for yourself or others.

What is Block Printing?

All our wastebaskets are made from handmade, block-printed fabric. Block printing is the process of printing patterns by means of engraved wooden blocks. The artisan uses uses a carved material - typically wood, linoleum, or rubber - to transfer ink onto fabric or paper. This is the earliest, simplest and slowest of all methods of textile printing. Block printing by hand is a slow process, and one that provides an entry to the global economy for many throughout the world.
